In this study we evaluated Type A Timoma case with pulmonary metastasis showing neuroendocrine morpho-logy with its morphological properties and distinctive diagnosis.
Case: In the PET catscan of a 70 years old woman admitted to our pulmonary clinic with a cough complaint, a 15 cm long tumor extending from right upper lobe anterior to the diaphragm and 9 mm sized nodules at both lungs were observed. In the histo-pathological sections solid and traberculer patterned spindle and oval shaped, in parts forming a badge, neoplastic formations were noticed. P63 positiveness of the cells constuting the tumor and CD1a positiveness of the lenfosits in between caught our attention. The findings were interpreted as Type A Timoma and the nodules at the lungs as Type A Timoma metastasis.
Conclusion: Since lung is an organ with frequent metastasis, in case of multiple nodules with histological neuroendocrine differentiation Type A Timoma metastasis should also be considered.
