What are the Characteristics of the Supplies Used in Pathology Laboratory?

DOI : 10.5146/jcpath.2022.72 Tissues pass through fixation, macroscopic examination and grossing, tissue processing (dehydration, clearing, infiltration), embedding, sectioning, staining and coverslipping periods before microscopic examination. A long list of pathology laboratory supplies are needed for these processes. Formaldehyde, ethyl alcohol, xylene, paraffine, hematoxylin, eosin, giemsa, EA50, EA65, OG65, entellan, hydrochloric acid, formic acid, cryomatrix, tissue processing cassette, basemould, microtome blade, grossing blades, slide, coverslip, slide holder, plastic tissue container are the main supplies of the laboratory. Pathologist should be aware of the technical features of the supplies and prepare the technical specification sheet carefully.
