Fizik muayenesinde splenomegali saptanan
hastaya kist hidatid ön tanısı ile splenektomi yapılmıştır. Dalağın kesit yüzünde 8 cm çapta uniloküle kist izlenmiştir. Olguya morfolojik ve
immunohistokimyasal bulgularla "dalağın primer epitelyal kisti/epidermoid kist" tanısı konulmuştur.
Sonuç: Splenik epitelyal kistler nadir görülmekle birlikte, dalaktaki kistik oluşumlarda ayırıcı tanıda akılda tutulmalıdır.
Aim: Splenic cysts are rare and the majority are parasitic cysts. Nonparasitic cysts are divided into two categories as primary (true, epithelial) and
secondary (pseudocysts, nonepithelial) according to the presence of epithelium. Epidermoid cysts with squamous epithelium are predominantly
seen in children or young adults.
Case: A 12-year-old male patient presented to emergency room with a complaint of abdominal pain and splenomegaly was noticed on physical
examination. A splenectomy was performed with a hydatid cyst diagnosis. Unilocular cyst with a diameter of 8 cm was observed on the cross
section of the spleen. Morphological and immunohistochemical findings of the case revealed a "primary epithelial cyst in the spleen / epidermoid
cyst".
Conclusion: Although splenic epithelial cysts are rare, they should be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis of cystic formations.
